The County of Sacramento owns and manages three championship golf courses and one nine-hole executive golf course for residents and visitors to enjoy. The courses offer a variety of settings and designs for a wide range of player skills. Because each course resides near or within a regional park, it is not uncommon for players to share a fairway with turkey, deer, geese and other wildlife. Ancil Hoffman and Cherry Island Golf Courses are operated by Empire Golf Management, while Mather Golf Course is operated by Course Co Inc.

Ancil Hoffman - Ancil Hoffman Golf Course is located in Ancil Hoffman Park next to the American River in Carmichael, California. A nationally ranked (top 75 public golf courses by Golf Digest), 18-hole championship golf course is par 72 for men and par 73 for women. Mather - Mather Golf Course is located in Mather Regional Park, Mather California, southeast of Sacramento. The course was built by the U.S. Air Force for exclusive use by the military. Campus Commons (Closed through Dec. 31, 2023) - The golf course is a 9-hole executive length golf course located at 2 Cadillac Drive.
