Welcome to Therapeutic Recreation Services
Therapeutic Recreation Services (TRS) provides therapeutic recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities residing in Sacramento County.
Our programs focus on abilities while encouraging people to attain their highest level of independent leisure functioning by increasing leisure skills, improving social skills, increasing independence and increasing their awareness of and involvement in community recreational activities.
Get Involved
In order to participate in TRS programs, we require that each participant fill out a Participant Enrollment Form. Once this form is completed in entirety, we will add you to our mailing list so that you will be informed of each program as they are advertised. New participants may be asked to come to the office for an informal meeting so that we can get to know each other.
About The Program
Donate
While our trained staff organize and oversee the day-to-day programs, our programs are supported through donations, internships, and volunteering. Donations of funds are always welcome and tax-deductible (Tax Exempt Identification # 94-6000529). Please call our center to find out more information.
Volunteer
We could not provide the outstanding array of services that we do without the valuable help of our many volunteers.
Volunteers are an essential part of TRS programs. Our volunteers assist with office tasks, coaching our Special Olympics team, staffing programs and more.
In order to become a volunteer with TRS, you must complete a Volunteer Application and attend an orientation. We require that our volunteers have a positive attitude and a desire to work with a wonderful group of people.
