Gibson Ranch sits directly below the instrument approach to Runway 16 at McClellan. This approach has an obstruction-free surface as outlined in 14 CFR 77.19. Anyone looking to fly their drone in this park should be aware of the airspace conflicts and keep operations below 200' Above Ground Level unless they can show that they have an airspace authorization or waiver. The FAA has partnered with Airmap to make filing flight plans and obtaining waivers and airspace authorizations faster and easier by automatically routing flight plans to the appropriate ATC authority for approval. For more drone use information, visit the FAA UAS Data Exchange and FAADroneZone websites.
